BC - The Westcoast Experience
The trip begins in Vancouver. Once we have our group together and say our 'hellos', we will travel to our first destination - Whistler Resort
WHISTLER This world renowned resort is a mecca for summer activities and you will have two and a half days to experience it while staying in accommodation right on Whistler Mountain. Whether you are zip lining through the tree canopies, skiing/snowboarding on the summer glacier, mountain biking on the numerous trails with something for every level of rider, enjoying 'apres' nachos on a sunny patio, exploring the village or swimming in the warm valley lakes, you will soon understand why this place is so popular...it's just so much fun.
Please note that intermediate experience is required to ski/snowboard on the glacier as there are no beginner runs. For those with no prior experience or for participants that do no wish to take part in this activity, mountain biking will be arranged and taught by professional instructors.
SHUSWAP LAKE After our Whistler fun we travel to Shuswap lake which is located in the hottest and driest area of B.C. It is a spectacular lake with over 600 miles/1000kms of shoreline and is known for its warm and clean water. To experience this lake, you will embark on a houseboating excursion for three days - there will be a boat for the girls and a boat for the guys. During this time, you will have unlimited wakeboarding. wakeskating, and water skiing opportunities as well as time to chill out on the decks of the houseboats and swim in this pristine lake. Once the sun goes down the good times will continue as your evenings on the lake will be spent around bonfires on the beach.
BOSTON BAR From the lake we travel to Boston Bar to take part in an exhilarating day of rafting on the well known Thompson River. Using a highly reputable company known for its safety, expert guides will take you down the exciting class 3 & 4 rapids...get ready for an adrenaline rush. You will spend the night at this top rated rafting resort, sleeping right on the edge of the river in their cozy tent cabins.
VANCOUVER ISLAND After the rafting adventure, we travel to Vancouver Island. Vancouver Island, known for its natural beauty and scenery, is a destination not to be missed. The first stop on Vancouver Island is the tourism hotspot of Tofino. Tofino, located on the west coast of the island, offers miles of sandy beaches, ancient rainforests, and wildlife...a true paradise. Here you will have a chance to surf in the Pacific, whale watch in zodiacs, ocean kayak through Clayoquot Sound (a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve), and explore its many beaches. The west coast is also known for its world class fishing and for those that want to experience this, there will be a half day fishing trip.
Our next stop is Mt. Washington Alpine Resort in Strathcona Park where we will be staying in a ski chalet. We use this as our base as we head to Campbell River to take part in a 'once in a lifetime time' adventure - snorkeling with salmon. This trip has been labeled by the Canadian Tourism Commission as one of the best adventure tours that Canada has to offer. As you snorkel down the river you will come face to face with schools of salmon migrating upriver to spawn...it will be truly unforgettable.
VANCOUVER After experiencing the island, we travel back to the mainland and spend our last two days together checking out the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. Staying in a hotel downtown, you will visit Capilano Suspension Bridge, cycle through Stanley Park, and explore the Granville Island Markets. For those that like to shop, you will have a chance to spend time on Robson Street - Vancouver's most well known shopping area. The farewell dinner will be spent at a trendy restaurant, where over a fine meal, we will reflect upon our trip, sharing stories, laughter and memories.
